This project is designed by rhythmic porches of building levels in facade. Proposed porches are semi-open spaces in combination of dynamic wooden panels, ribbon windows & gardens. These panels can be closed in summer and catch the sun. In encounter of sunlight and wooden panels Some shadows are going to form back side of them. Shadows and green areas together lead pleasant and cool weather into the surrounded space of apartment through the open inductor glasses. In Winter with open awning and pouring leaves, sunlight will make it through the porch. Meanwhile porches will be added to interior space with closure of windows.

Conclusion:

Objectives can be summarized as follows:

1. Respect to site and protection of existing green areas & design semi-open spaces with use of plants
2. Usage of porches in order to control the visibility from exterior spaces, sunlight, energy saving and increasing quality of interior spaces.
3. Usage of wooden awnings for controlling sunlight in different seasons and various hours of day

Objective and necessity of implementation:

Sustainable architecture has a great history in Iran. Whole elements of Iranian architecture are designed with purpose of protecting the environment and emphasizing existing climate.

residential spaces are designed to maintain human’s comfort & also adjusting building with it’s environs at the same time. Project site is located in warm and dry climate and in a noisy place. therefor sunlight, noise, preservation of green areas, energy supply & … are many factors that had effected this project.

As mentioned usage of elements capable to meet these factors in surrounded apartments seems necessary.

Iranian porches are one of these effective elements. As a semi-open space, porches may have major role in creating flexible space and develop indoor spaces with use of daylight and plants.

On the other hand, using wooden, recyclable & dynamic awning in order to control heat and light in various seasons may be a suitable solution for energy saving and privacy preserving for residents.

In following of preserving building’s environment that was full of trees, we decided to use this green area in combination of semi-open porches. In this way we could achieve heat balance, energy saving, sustainability and we could be able to memorialize Iranian culture and architecture.

The project is a residential apartment which is located at Abbaspour region that consists of 7 floors,2 of them are common floors which are available for all residents of the building and 5 units above ground floor and a total 5 residential areas of 193 square meters.

Interior spaces of each unit includes: a baby bedroom, master bedroom (includes bathroom), workshop, laundry room, bathroom, living room, tv room, entrance lobby, guest bathroom, kitchen, breakfast dining and a terrace.

4- GEOGRAPHIC AND CLIMATE REPORT OF THE PROJECT LOCATION

The project is located in Tehran with a geographical location of 51.10 longitude and 38.41 geographical degree and at an altitude of about 1,200 meters above sea level.

The average temperature is 17 ° C. This average reaches 6.22 ° C in summer and 5.11 ° C in winter.

The maximum temperature in the summer is 44 ° C and the minimum temperature in the winter is -8.14 ° C

The average rainfall in the city of Tehran is low and measured at 245.8 mm throughout the year and The number of frost days has been recorded 36 days per year.
