Dara Residential Building
| Tehran | 2023-2024 | Design and Construction
Dara Residential Project is a narrative of dwelling within small dimensions, set in the heart of an ordinary neighborhood in Tehran. Here, the constraint of limited floor area became an opportunity to explore a new quality of everyday life.
A composition of glass, metal, concrete, and stone forms a balanced, multilayered façade: stone at the ground level strengthens the sense of connection to the earth, while glass and metal surfaces on the upper floors bring transparency, lightness, and a rhythmic visual order.
The design intent was to ensure that even in compact units, traces of light, air, and human interaction could be experienced. The plan and spatial details were shaped so that every square meter carries the potential for life—not merely for accommodation. With a focus on natural light and ventilation, the layout integrates central voids and side openings, allowing direct access to daylight and fresh air in all units.
Despite the density of seven units per floor, spatial organization ensures that residents’ privacy is preserved, minimizing visual and acoustic interference.
Ultimately, this project represents the intersection of function, aesthetics, and quality of living within a contemporary form. More than a collection of units, it is an attempt to infuse new spirit into the neighborhood—a gesture to weave simplicity and possibility together with a modest yet meaningful hope for change.
